I´M A CORK ON THE OCEAN, FLOATING OVER THE RAGIN´SEA… HOW DEEP IS THE OCEAN? HOW DEEP IS THE OCEAN?

(Till I Die / Bryan Wilson)

Stop for a moment. Breath in. Breath out. Slow forward. Rewind. Listen. Follow us “INTO THE DEEP”. Immerse into the soundscape of niniwe where musical genres will no longer be of interest. Four female voices coming from nowhere – from everywhere – siren-like and pure – leading you into the deep.

Niniwe’s originals and a cappella arrangements weave classical music to elements from pop and jazz, bind them all to avantgarde harmonies and unusual rhythms. Performed by the whole group as well as in solos/duets/trios, they are contrasted by live-looped soundscapes and put into scene with light and shadow, appearance and dissappearance.
A show playing with imagination and irritation, perception, sound and silence, exploring space and inner landscape of singers and audience alike. Contemplative, sensory, pure.

“While sitting in the audience they sing directly into the ears of the visitors. That is not only courageous, but also stresses the vocal sovereignty of the group, who creates a perfectly homogenous sound – even when they are out of sight .” – taz
